A Heater Coil uses electricity to heat the air passing through it. It is located in the air handler, which is part of the air conditioner. The heater coil is made up of a series of wires that are wrapped around a metal core. When electricity is passed through the wires, they heat up and heat the air that passes over them. The heater coil is controlled by a thermostat, which turns it on and off depending on the desired temperature. When the thermostat senses that the temperature is too low, it turns on the heater coil to warm the air.
