A Deep Groove Ball Bearing is a type of rolling contact bearing which consists of an inner race that is mounted on the shaft or journal and an outer race that is carried by the housing or casing. In between the inner and outer race, rolling elements i.e. balls are there. The radius of the ball is slightly less than the radii of curvature of the grooves in the races providing point contact between the balls and the races. Therefore, the balls and the races may roll freely without any sliding.
Attributes:
• Provided with a seal to prevent dust to enter
• Provided with a pin lock slot for securing the bearing in place.
• Should provide a clearance of radius 1mm on both sides of the raceway.
• High load-carrying capacity in the radial as well as the axial direction
• Excellent performance in high-speed applications.
• Less frictional loss and therefore low resultant temperature rise
Applications:
A Deep Groove Ball Bearing is the most widely used bearing type and is suitable for several applications.
