Description:
The axial joint is used in the tie rod assembly of a steering system. It is located at the inner end of the tie rod, connecting it to the steering gear or rack. The axial joint is to allow for axial movement or linear displacement of the tie rod as the steering wheel is turned. This movement compensates for changes in the angle of the tie rod that occur when the chassis is compressed or returns to its former state. The axial joint provides the necessary articulation for this axial movement.
Attributes:
• Withstands the forces and stresses that it will be subjected to during the operation
• Manufactured to precise specifications and are built for durability, reliability
• Serves as a connecting element between the steering gear and the tie rod ends
Application:
An Axial Joint is used at the Tie rod with Ball Joint in the Steering Axle Drive in the Power train, and this is mostly used in Cat 416C, 436C, 416D, 420D, 424D, 426C, 428C, 428D, 432D, 438D, 442D, 430D, 415, 416, 420XE, 420, 428, 430, 432, 416F2, and 420F2 Backhoe Loader.
