Description:
The Piston Skirt helps to reduce friction between the piston and the cylinder wall by providing a smooth surface for the piston to slide against. It is typically located at the bottom of the piston, just above the piston pin. It extends down into the cylinder and is in contact with the cylinder wall as the piston moves up and down.
Attributes:
• Supports the piston as it moves up and down in the cylinder, preventing it from wobbling
• Prevents it from overheating and causing damage to the engine
Applications:
The Piston Skirt is used in pistons to provide a seal in the combustion chamber, this is mostly used in Cat 140H, 143H, 14H, 160H, 163H, and 16H Motor Grader, 2106, 3176, 3176B, 3176C, 3196, 3406E, C-10, C-12, C-15, C10, C12 and C13 Engine (Piston), 345 and 365 345B, 365B and W345B Excavators, 416, 420, 428, 430, 432, 434 and 444 Backhoe, 480 and 485 Combine Harvester, 572R Pipelayer, 65E, 75C, 75D, 75E, 85C, 85D, 85E, 95E, D7R, D8R, MT835, MT845, MTC835, and MTC845 Track Type Tractor, 725, 730 and D300E Articulated Truck, 814F Wheel Type Tractors, 815F, 816F, CP34, CP5, CS34 and CS5 Compactor, 953, TA29, TH35, TH38, TR35, TR43 and TR53 Powertrain, 966G, 972G, R1300, R1600, R1600G and R1700G Wheel Loader, C-12 Generator Set, C12 Power Systems, CPS361, CPT372, CPT372TT, SBF214, SPF343 and SUF557 Pumper, Cement Trucks, TH514D Telehandler Hrc, TH514D Telehandler Lrc, TK1051 Tree Harvester.
