An Intercooler is used to improve the efficiency and performance of the engine's air intake system. Usually positioned between the turbocharger and the inlet manifold of a marine engine. Its main purpose is to cool the compressed air from the turbocharger. The primary role of an intercooler is to reduce the temperature of the intake air that has been compressed by a turbocharger. Compressed air becomes hot due to the compression process, which reduces the engine performance. The intercooler cools down the compressed air, making it denser and improving the combustion efficiency.
