The Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield acts as a layer of protection from the heat emitted from the turbochargers. Temperatures attained by the turbochargers can lead to severe burns when accessing the area without the heat shield. The heat shields are made from composites of different matrices, reinforcements, and interfaces in order to achieve maximum shielding in the accessible areas.
Attributes:
Made from a blend of materials that work together to be able to insulate the contact surface and not transmit all the heat from the surface of the turbocharger through it
Uses a tiedown method using a hook and spring to safely mount the Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield and also ensure that the vibration from the system is dampened and does not affect the Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield over a long period of operation
Application:
This Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield insulates the outer surface from the heat generated by the turbochargers during operation. This is applicable to D10N and D10R Track-Type Tractors.
