The Relief Valve is used to protect the pump from excessive pressure. It is used to open and release fluid when the pressure exceeds a predetermined set point. The pressure in the system reaches or exceeds the set point of the relief valve, it opens to allow the excess fluid to bypass or be redirected to a lower-pressure area.
